Sleep Blessed Sleep

Finally! Ryan went to bed at a decent time last night. We put him down for a ‘nap’ at 11:45 and figured he would sleep around 30-45 minutes. He slept over an hour, woke up, wanted fed and went back to sleep. At 2 am, he did the same thing and again at 4 am he wanted fed and went back to sleep. We officially got up at 10:15 today. WOW! I almost feel normal today. I didn’t get a shower yet tho. I think I will have to start showering at night before I go to bed.

Today we had some semblance of a schedule. After he woke up, I changed the 40 lb diaper (man, those things hold alot!) we ate breakfast, then he laid on the floor and played independently for awhile. I read a magazine (I am way behind on these) until he got fussy and wanted interaction. After playing, we took our first nap. Then we got up and played with Daddy until sleepy and then took another nap. We played until 7ish and then went for a walk in the stroller around the block and when we got back it was time for another bottle. We thought he would take his last nap of the day (he has only napped for 2 hours so far today) but he just ate and is now playing with Daddy on the floor in the living room.

So hopefully because we have monitored his naps and he isn’t taking one now, he will go to bed even earlier than 11:45 tonight! Please Please. I would just love a good solid chunk of time to sleep. He will sleep for 2 hours, eat, 2 hours, eat, and then 4 hours. Hopefully once we get him eating more solids, he will sleep more through the night.

He went down at 11:30 officially, so we will see if he stays that way. It is hard to feel normal when you are a zombie from lack of sleep. When you don’t feel normal, you can’t even begin to function the way you should as a parent. Thank God he is an easy baby!
