Home 2 full days now

And still no routine. We are very worn out. Tuesday night we went to bed at 5:30 am and got up at 11:30. Wednesday night we went to bed at 4 am and got up at 10:30. Hopefully we will continue doing this until we have him around 11:00 pm bedtime, which is what he was used to before. The hard part is keeping him from taking a million cat naps during the day. Ryan is a hungry boy and is used to pacifying himself on his bottle. So everytime he eats he wants to nap. Adversly, when he wants to sleep he wants a bottle. So you make a 7 oz bottle and he only eats an oz to put himself to sleep. And he won’t go to sleep yet without one. We decided we would wait to work on that later. Right now he is dealing with so many changes. We hate to take away something that obviously helps him deal with this drastic change in his life. We have the all the blinds open in the house and talk in happy voices to make sure he knows it is day time. Which doesn’t work when he is cranky because he is sleepy.

We are really enjoying having Ryan in our lives. We love being his parents and even though we are tired all the time, we know that soon we will have a schedule and better sleeping habits. It is just hard to ineract and play with him when all you want is to sleep.

So far I haven’t had a shower yet during the morning or day. I usually find time sometime around 9 pm. Brushing my teeth? Naw. Still haven’t washed my hair yet since I have been home. Will have to make sure I get that done before Hav goes back to work.

Today we are gonna try to make a trip to the Library to see Mark and the crew. It is important to get out during the day so he knows it is daytime. No matter how bright you make it in the house, I think it is better if he is outside in the air. He got extremely cranky, so we let him take a nap now, but we haven’t been letting him sleep when he wants, trying to get him down to 2 naps a day and a full nights sleep. He had construction around his foster home in Korea, so he is used to taking a bunch of short naps in between banging noises during the day. I hope we can get him off this habit and into one that works better for us!

Well, I better take advantage of Ryan’s sleeping and get some things done while I can. Where did all my time go?? :P
