Wednesday 8/24

Last night we met Tom and Joe from some Board Game Geek thing. They are both here with their families teaching at a Universal School. It was really nice meeting them. We also met Chad, an expat doing work here in Seoul for another week. We played 3 games with T and J, and 1 game with all of us. I actually won the game Oasis, but I am sure it was just beginners luck! We ended up buying the game Gemblo and my MIL has just about beat the game. I won the first game and now they have played 2 games without me and Mom won both. The first game with only 3 left! We ended up not shopping because we finished playing games so late, and then ate dinner at Burger King (yum!). The subway trains only go on the 1/2 hour after 10, so we headed back to Incheon.

Today we actually slept in! I think we woke up sometime around 8:15 or 8:30. We hung around the house, taking our time waking up and then got ready to go to Eastern for lunch with the Drs. Kim. We really enjoyed meeting a couple from Seattle that was there visiting Korea for the first time with their son. They were on a birthland tour and he said he really enjoyed it but was tired of traveling. Boy, Howdy! I completely understand that. I am ready to take my son and head home to familiar territory.

After the Korean style lunch but set at American style table (yay!) we went to Namdaemun shopping. We picked up some great souvenir type gifts for friends, and of course a few things for ourselves. I wanted to buy Ryan some birthday gifts that he might be able to use in the next couple of years. Hav’s parents are trying to get a contract here in Korea, and if they do, we’ll be back to visit again soon. So I didn’t buy too much stuff.

Tomorrow we were supposed to take professional pictures of us in our Hanboks around Gyeongbogung Palace but it is raining really hard now and the forcast is rain so we probably won’t do the pictures. We are checking into the Seoul Hilton for our last night as people without children! Then will catch the subway over to Eastern to pick up our baby boy! The family will meet us there.

I can’t believe I will finally have Ryan in my arms forever in 2 days! It is such an amazing feeling. We were laughing about how little we actually know about taking care of a child. But I suppose everyone goes through it regardless of giving birth or not. I have been trying to do some preliminary packing since we will be taking a bunch of stuff home with us. I don’t want to be stressing out about it on Sunday night.

Back to gaming!
